Introduction
Welcome to Third Rodeo’s first Lesbian/Queer Social Gathering of 2026!
A vibrant event designed for connection, conversation, flirting, and making new mates. There are 80 spots available, so seize the opportunity!
Our goal for 2026 is simple: to continue creating a fun, loving, and inclusive third space where you can be challenged, find community, and build meaningful connections. If you’re new here, Third Rodeo’s name is inspired by the Third Place Theory—the idea that true, authentic connections are forged in a third environment outside of home and work. The word "Rodeo" comes from the phrase, "not my first rodeo," symbolising confidence.
The more our community chooks attend our events, the more they feel comfortable in expressing their identity and greeting new people. Your support means the world to us. Third Rodeo raises funds through these events with the dream of opening a permanent third space in Naarm. We believe we can make it happen.
In the meantime, saddle up and put yourself out there—you never know what fate or destiny has in store. Perhaps tonight is the night you were meant to meet someone special.

Event Details

Come join us on the evening of Saturday 10 January Nevermind Bar, Next D'or Bar, in Hawthorn. It is a casual, but charming atmosphere, privately booked out for you to socialise among the Lesbian/Queer community. Grab your bloody shiraz or Coke no sugar from the bar and turn strangers into dearest companions.
Event Breakdown
We'll greet ya at the door, tick ya name off and give you a name card.
★ Name Game: You never know who you'll meet. Get given a guests name upon arrival and make it your mission to find them. There’s a question on the back to ask them if you’d like. This game creates chatter, banter and memories. The connections are boundless.
Note: Once you ask someone their name, even if it is NOT your person, you should exchange questions (-:
★ Board games available.
★ Two pool tables! Bring ya spare change!
★ Call me cards: Keep in contact with each other. Write your details down on one of the 'Call me Cards' displayed around the venue. It's a lovely gesture, an old fashion trick that works like charm!
Lesbian Leaderboard
We are excited to introduce the LESBIAN LEADERBOARD! By the end of 2026, we will crown the ultimate Lesbian of the Year.
At each event, we will hide the Golden Scissors somewhere around the venue. The first person to find the scissors will earn 10 points. These points will accumulate over each event, gradually revealing our Lesbo of the Year.
In addition to the scissors hunt, there will be various activities where you can earn points. To redeem points earned from scissor hunting or activities, simply notify your host for the night, and they will record your name.
For this event, you can also earn points by:
- Being the first to complete the Lesbian Bingo quest — 5 points.
- First one to find their buddy (name card) — 5 points.
- Winner of Lesbian arm wrestle competition - 5 points.
Additional Information
This is operating at a licensed venue. Please do not BYO. This event is designed for persons 21+ . Please note, you will be exposed to loud chatter, large crowds, background music and mood lighting. Photography will be present, although, if you wish to not have your photograph taken, let us know. This venue is not fully wheelchair accessible. We are working assiduously towards functions that are fully disability accessible.

Many of my own beautiful queer friendships have blossomed from these gatherings, and I can’t wait for you to experience the same.
I know it can be intimidating to show up alone, but trust me—you’re not alone in that feeling. Everyone is here for the same reason: to connect and find their community. You’ll quickly find that our crowd is warm, friendly, and welcoming!
